It feels like forever since I met Kate & Jon. I remember walking up and down a street in Philly looking for a coffee shop that actually had seats available, dragging my album bag behind me. We spent so much time talking, I felt like I already knew them by the time we finally headed back to the first place we started at and found a seat. We sat, grabbed lunch and before I knew it we had spent all afternoon together and we hadn’t even talked about packages, albums or any of those things. I’d had a fantastic afternoon with new friends. I’ve been looking forward to this wedding since that day.
On the day of, I was a little worried about traffic with the Race and the NFL Draft going on, but found it was smooth sailing in. When I arrived at the hotel, I got started on details, the flowers that Laura from Savannah’s Garden did were just gorgeous and matched everyone’s gowns perfectly. After everyone was dressed we head over to Rittenhouse square where Jon proposed to Kate. Originally we were going to go to City Hall, but we ran a tad behind and there were huge NFL banners across the building, and I felt like this pulled the day full circle.
After portraits we head back to the Pyramid club for the ceremony! Can I tell you how absolutely gorgeous this location was for the ceremony?? After the ceremony and the rest of portraits, we took a scary elevator 50+ floors up and took some details from their reception room. Each centerpiece was a street sign, some flowers, and a little note that talked about why that street was important to them. It was super cute. The view was also absolutely stunning, but nothing compared to the view I got when we went to the skyscraper roof to do some final portraits of the evening. Originally I was nervous and scared (ummm heights????), but I’m finding this job pushes me through my fears and I get to experience the most incredible things in my life. We had a short time to do some portraits and then head back downstairs for the party!
