National Museum of American Jewish History Wedding | Philadelphia, PA | Hannah & Murray

October 6, 2017

Holy wow this wedding was gorgeous..and colorful…..and more dancing than I think I’ve ever seen, ever. Dave and I had a fantastic time running around Philly with Hannah and Murray for their wedding. I also called my first Uber in the city (yay for the little experiences?). We started at the Stay AKA which is a small bar and hotel near Rittenhouse Square. We arrive at this small bar and are looking for where the heck we are supposed to go and Murray shows us how you can go through to the hotel. I head up to the bridal suite and Dave stuck around to do groom prep. When I arrived, Monica (their awesome wedding planner) had all my details perfectly set up on a table for me. (And there was a TON!!!) We did the first look right across the street. Rittenhouse had a huge festival going on, so we decided to check out a side street with the old buildings. There was a little garden area that was an entrance to a hotel or apartment or something (not sure) and they let us do their first look in there so avoid all the people passing.

I love emotional first looks. There is something incredible about two people so in love seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day and realizing this way they have been waiting for is finally here. From there we head over to Rittenhouse and found our way to my favorite Rittenhouse Shed to do bridal party portraits. I wasn’t sure how well this was going to work with how many people we had, but everyone listened really well and took great direction and we had a great time. After that, we went to city hall for couples portraits and banged them out before heading to the Museum for the ceremony! The reception room was halved with beautiful drapery and their ceremony site was beautifully lit up when we arrived, but once it was over, the Sage Catering team transformed the venue instantly back into a reception room. We head downstairs for cocktail hour and family portraits (and I got to see some cool photo gear firsts in the main museum floor) before the reception! Dave, Dru and I setup for reception like we normally do and Hannah and Murray informed us that everyone would be dancing in. I figured, yeah yeah dancing in. I figured some cute pose before they head to the dance floor.

As soon as the entrances began, the room was SWARMING with guests and everyone was entering and boy were the dancing. Everyone had their unique entrance. When Hannah and Murray finally came in, Dave and I could barely move to shoot there was so many people. Everyone was congratulating them and putting money in Hannah’s gown. There was so much going on, so many speakers, special dances, and a second entrance in african clothes (with more money flying and material being dragged at their feet) that we didn’t get a break until almost 11 at night to eat dinner, but I didn’t even realize it we were having so much fun! (Which is insane to me because Sage does an amazing job on food and it was delicious as always).
