Collingswood Ballroom Wedding | Amanda & Steve | NJ Wedding Photographer

May 22, 2018

I knew this wedding was going to be gorgeous before I even packed up my gear that day to shoot. Amanda and Steve are a super fun couple. We did their engagement session a while back in Atlantic City (which I will at some point get caught up with blogging engagement shoots cause this beach shoot was …omg!) and we had a TON of fun. There were SO many photos. It was no less with their wedding! Dave and I had shot at the Collingswood Ballroom last November for Juan and Kristen (Elizabeth)’s wedding, but it was just the reception after dark. This time we got to spend the almost the entire day at this beautiful venue!

We started with prep at their houses — Amanda’s family had painted and prepped a room just for her to get ready in (ummm yes??) with gorgeous natural light. We head over to Knight’s park which is a super popular park for photos and at this time of the year has gorgeous cherry blossoms in bloom everywhere! The park is almost within walking distance of the venue, but just a tad too far. Transport got a little wonky so we got lots of extra time for couples portraits at this beautiful location.

Once we arrived at the Ballroom, we got caught back up on portraits since there is that beautiful mansion area in the front of the building to shoot in. Amanda and Steve took a private moment to read each other’s letters (which I had to sneak a few photos of even though they were in private) and then we head off to the ceremony! Apparently the large branch that usually overhung the ceremony location had broken so they put up the ceremony pergola for them literally the week before. The absolutely gorgeous light on their ceremony was to die for though.

What’s fun about Collingswood ballroom is that they do a “Reveal” where the curtains on the cocktail hour are pulled back and the couple actually does their first dance on the dance floor prior to their entrances. It’s a really beautiful moment to photograph. The rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away on the dance floor. (And of course stealing the bride and groom away for a few low light portraits before the end of the night). Congrats!!
