I remember sitting at a Panera bread with Michelle and her dad and asking her “So how do you feel about braids.” Originally Dave and I had plans on going to Pennsic (our epic medieval vacation), and I would have had to rush home to make it for her wedding. But how could I not shoot it? I had met Michelle while she was still in the booking a venue portion of the process and had sent her a long list of venues that I loved. When she finally picked the venue, I was next! I had loved talking with her and knew I wanted to be a part of this day. So either I had to rush home and remove the braids and end up with a HUGE poodle like head of hair, or leave them in. She was totally ok with them.
So we ended up not going to Pennsic. Booked a few more weddings the week before (Lauren & Shane – How could I say no to her?? I’ve known her since forever) and then Kate and Jon (Ummm that wedding was epic.) and in general, we were just swamped. We decided to skip it this year. I didn’t think she would even remember – but when I was photographing her prep she asks, “Aren’t you supposed to have braids?” I adore Michelle. lol.
I dropped Dave off at the Moorestown Community house where Anthony was getting ready. I’d never met him yet, but he and all his groomsmen were just completely chill hanging out upstairs before it was time. I head over to Michelle’s dad house for her prep. This house is GORGEOUS. It’s literally a butterfly garden. Everywhere I looked there was butterflies. (As you know Dave proposed to me in a butterfly garden) so I was in Heaven!! It was such a great spot for prep with beautiful natural light. After prep, Anthony came to her dad’s house for first look and couples portraits (Best place ever!) and then head back to the Moorestown Community house for the Ceremony. They had a butterfly release at the ceremony (again, Love!) and the night just flew by with the reception. Everyone was on the dance floor dancing. <3 Enjoy the photos.
