The thought and creativity that goes into non-traditional weddings that aren’t at a venue always amaze me. After getting married at a campground myself, I know the amount of work that goes into planning and setting up a DIY wedding. Julie and Drew were married on a family farm property not 20 minutes from my studio! We started at the Bride’s mom’s house and the Groom’s home where we had done their engagement session (Both gorgeous properties with plenty of greenery and places to shoot!) I was so excited when I saw all the horses (and miniature ponies!!) Their ceremony was held at a Church in Elmer that I haven’t been to since Kate and Dan’s wedding a few years ago (But still all super local to where I grew up) before we head over to where their Reception was. Julie had set up the Hay bails just for us to photograph the bridal party on and they had cleared an area behind a corn field to hide away the tent and all the decor. It wasn’t just a tent though, It was an enormous 3 piece tent with a ballroom area, and two side areas for catering to be set up, a tent for the bar, a lounge area around the fire pit, and games to play outdoors!
