Grounds for Sculpture Wedding | Diane & Rob | NJ Wedding Photography

December 23, 2017

I had never been to Grounds for Sculpture before Diane and Rob’s wedding. I had heard it was beautiful and that I would probably love it since I’m a huge fan of gardens like Longwood. All I can say is I felt like I could have spent all day with the two of them. I didn’t want it to end! First of all, Diane and Rob are perfect to photograph together and gave me total control with the timing to make sure we had ample time to photograph everything we needed. I felt like I was photographing a styled shoot instead of a wedding. They even did a same-day ceremony rehearsal. Everywhere you walk at Grounds for Sculpture, there is something else awesome to photograph. The place is covered in art, every turn you see a life-like statue that you believe is a real person at first. In fact while setting up the first look, Rob had multiple people that thought he was a piece of art standing waiting for Diane! There were so many places to take photos everywhere it was hard to pick where to start.

It was an intimate wedding, only their closest friends and family attended. Diane wrote the whole ceremony and was the mastermind putting the entire wedding together from start to finish. Apparently there are multiple places you can choose at Grounds for Sculpture to have your ceremony, but I loved the stone, water, and lily pads all around their location. It was absolutely dreamy. And the flowers were absolutely perfect for a Fall wedding. They held their “reception” dinner at the restaurant, although the venue has a ballroom for larger events. (In fact there was a halloween party taking place as Diane and Rob’s were leaving to head to their after party). Dave and I felt so at home spending time with Diane and Rob. All of the guests were kind and welcoming and we probably would have skipped over to their after party with live music and dancing they had invited us to if it hadn’t been that we had a wedding the next morning! Diane sent me home with the LARGEST and AMAZING slice of cake I think i’ve ever had. I normally don’t get to eat cake or pastries, but Diane is allergic to peanuts like me and had custom ordered her incredible cake from a baker that specializes in nut allergies. I was in heaven. I’ve been dying to share these photos, I’m so excited to get them on the blog today!!
