Our couple-to-be could not have asked for a more gorgeous start to their wedding day. An October sun bathed The Bradford Estate in a natural light that every wedding photographer dreams of.
Inside, the bridal party prepared for the day in their plum satin robes. Light poured in through the large estate windows, playing on the intricate beadwork of Rachel’s golden gown. The flourishes of the woodwork paired with the bouquets- all of their earthy peaches and violets, and the bride’s opulent white roses- created a timeless class that begged to be captured.
Rachel and Tommy met in high school; Tommy loves art and creativity. Tommy even proposed by creating a short film. They knew they wanted a wedding photographer with complimenting tastes for fine art and storytelling.
As we moved on to the Couple’s Portraits, I knew I had to incorporate the scenery- the flawless landscaping, and brilliant flowers in full bloom. You’d never know that rain clouds were encroaching!
The bridal party regrouped for portraits, with their vibrant sangria gowns, and then the groomsmen, with their matching bow ties and boutonnières. They brought with them a contagious energy that carried us into the ceremony. Above, the skies were ready to burst, but we all crossed our fingers. There was no time to move the ceremony indoors.
The reception that followed was equally timeless with a simple, yet elegant, color plan dominated by white, with gold and silver accents. A 5-tier cake by DiBartolobakery greeted guests with white frosting details and soft pink roses.
Moments after the last guests made their way inside, the skies opened up. A thick torrential downpour enveloped the estate.
I wanted to wrap up the highlights of Rachel and Tommy’s wedding with a few images from their first dance. I could not have been more certain that I had captured the energy of this couple and this magnificent wedding, when I saw the first dance through my lens. Only black and white will do, when it comes to that sort of timeless beauty.
All the best to you two. What a beautiful experience to have shared!
